Circular Stores

....or if you give a child a muffin, they will say, "Mmmmmmmm!"  Today, after finishing a week of learning about the letter M and reading books about monkeys, mice, and moose, the children and I made muffins.  (Well, I made them in the classroom quickly, because our activity was interrupted by a fire drill!)  It was almost unanimous - all but one of the children thought the blueberry muffins were mmmmm-mmmmm good!

The students learned that Laura Numeroff writes "circular" stories.  These stories come full circle and end the way they begin.  Yesterday's books by Laura Numeroff were also circular stories.

Important News on the Newsletter Today

Parents, please read the newsletter that went home today before Monday!  I would hate for any of you to take your child to the bus stop or to school, only to realize there is no school on Monday for the children!  It is a Professional Development Day for the teachers.

Also, please take a look at next week's Activity Schedule.  We are on a 4 day schedule now, and it just so happens that next week's schedule will be just like this week's schedule.  But the following week it won't be, as Day 1 will be on Monday and again on the following Friday.

The last real important event for you to read about is the Kindergarten Open House which will be on Thursday, September 13th, from 5-6 p.m.  You can come to the Open House and then go to the Book Fair in the Media Center!  I will do a short presentation, then you can look around the room, ask questions, and then go on a "trip" to have your Passport signed at the Activity teacher's classes.  I hope to see all of you on Thursday night!

Have a great weekend!
