New Parents for 2012-13

Hello Parents,

I hope that some of you are reading this blog post.  If so, that means you have "discovered" our class's website, a place where I have the most up-to-the-minute news and photos from our Class Family.

Thank you for attending the Meet-'n-Greet on Friday.  As I mentioned, it was quite hectic because we didn't have our class lists until about one hour before the Meet-'n-Greet due to a necessity to add not 1, but 2 new kindergarten teachers!

If you did not attend, I have a Parent Information folder for you.  But I will tell you what I told the parents on Friday, and was in a letter to you in the folder:  I will not be at school for the first two days, as my son is going into the Air Force and his swearing-in ceremony and his send-off to Basic Training is on Monday and Tuesday in Tampa.  I have a very reliable Guest Teacher who will be in for me, and two parents who will be with her to help her, so your children will be in very capable hands.  I am leaving detailed plans for them to follow, so it will almost be as though I was right there.

The latest schedule put out Friday afternoon for our Activity classes is as follows (subject to change):

Monday: Computer Lab (Mrs. Frye)
Tuesday: Art (Mrs. DeLorey)
Wednesday: Music (Mrs. Turner, a substitute until a new teacher is hired)
Thursday: Media (Mrs. Bosley and her assistant, Mrs. McDede)
Friday: P.E. (Coach Lyons)
Monday: Computer Lab

We are currently on a SIX DAY ROTATION, which means that the children will not have the same class on Mondays or Tuesdays, etc.

Please be sure that your children have tennis shoes for the days we have P.E.  On the other days, it's important that your children follow the dress code - shoes with backs.  The kindergarten teachers prefer that the children wear tennis shoes daily, as they have recess everyday and it's much easier to run and play in tennis shoes.  They are safer for running in, also.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, preferably through email because it is the most "immediate" form of communication for me.  berry.susan@brevardschools.org
